The Test: Normal Picks vs. Lishi Tool
Using Regular Picks
With a standard lock-picking setup from the Genesis Set, the lock was picked in 48 seconds. The process involved:
- Carefully navigating all five spooled security pins.
- Counter rotations and multiple adjustments, making it a moderately challenging pick.
This attempt, seen between timestamps 1:15 to 2:03, highlights the effort needed with traditional tools.
Using the Lishi Lock Pick
Switching to the Lishi KW1 tool yielded a drastically different result. This tool makes picking much easier by lifting pins to their lowest factory height. Remarkably, the lock was picked in just 14 seconds, as shown between timestamps 2:12 to 2:26.
The Lishi tool bypassed four of the five security pins, leaving only the highest-cut pin (pin 3) to be picked manually.
Takeaways and Tools
This test demonstrates the vulnerability of even high-end locks like the Yale Assure Lock 2. While it may deter novice pickers, skilled professionals or specialized tools can easily bypass its defenses.
